Product Description

 
The Cobra ESD-9860 is a 10 band radar detector providing ultra-sensitivity. It allows you to hear your alerts announced in plain English by a real human voice with the Voice Alert feature. The ESD-9860 radar detector is also equipped with an alpha numeric display, which allows for far more detailed detection messages and a more complex signal strength indicator. An 8 point digital compass is included with the Cobra ESD-9860 and will display your direction while you're driving. The intuitive SmartMute feature is also provided.

Cobra getting better **UPDATED May 13, 2003**

The Bottom Line: This product is great for the average user, but if you have a lead foot go for a higher end detector. If you require Spectre Invisibility than get this detector.
Review: After owning a Cobra 9850 and now upgrading to the 9860 I've noticed a big improvement in sensitivity on the 9860.

X and K band has always been pretty solid for Cobra, the detector gives you ample time to slow down when these threats are...

The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a radar detector, and you're a penny pencher, go for the 9110. If you like a few extra features, go for the 9860.
Review: Ok, I have been able to test the 9860. I had a Cobra 9110 before (see my review). So far I haven't seen anything that is just blows the 9110 away. The cool features would definitely be the compass, and the voice is ok. The thing I don't like about...

Review: My first 9860 wore me out in a week with an average of 2 false X band alerts per mile. Sent that sick pup back and got another that was even worse and the second one had a flaky compass to boot. Cobra seems to think that this unit has no more...
