The Bottom Line: Excellent value for listening to audiobooks, either plugged in or portable.  Not recommended for music if you've got finicky ears, or if the color pink makes you nauseous.
Review: I got my Apple ILIVE IB-R2807DPPNK PORTABLE MUSIC SYSTEM WITH IPOD DOCK to listen to audiobooks.  It cost me about $40, including shipping.  It takes eight C-sized batteries, and also plugs into wall.  Automatically switches to battery when you plug...

The basic functions of the ilive ipod docking system.

I bought this unit simply because it also plays non-ipod mp3 players. You must purchase a separate cable hook-up if your mp3 player isn't an ipod brand. I like the fact that it's portable, and for it's size, it has a nice sound. The clock doesn't keep correct time. I don't know if that's because I'm constantly going back and forth between a wall connection, and using it as a portable device. Also, it lacks sound controls, like bass and treble. Nonetheless, it sounds pretty good, and it comes in a variety of colors. Pros: Plays non-ipod mp3 players, It's portable, Comes in different colors Cons: The clock doesn't keep correct time, Use of pause, play, fast forward search, and fast backward search buttons, for non-ipod mp3 players, Controls for bass, etc.
