I used to be a devoted customer of Ebay, until recently. I purchased an item, and 6 hours later, received an email from Ebay. This stated that the item I purchased is no longer available to purchase, and they were sorry for inconviencing me. Please note that I paid for this item thru Paypal. What this email said to me was that I was not going to be able to purchase this particular item. So, I went out there and located the same item (not knowing, of course that Paypal already took this payment from my bank account). I paid a slightly higher price thru another seller for the same item, but I was okay with this. One day later, I reviewed my bank account online, and discovered that the 1st and the 2nd item costs were deducted from my account. I contacted PayPal, which is owned by Ebay. They stated that I needed to contact the seller to resolve this issue, not them. They sent me an email with the sellers information. I sent an email to this seller, and received this back "undeliverable". So, I contacted Ebay. They stated that I needed to file a claim thru PayPal (remember, they were sorry to inconvience me at the beginning". So, I filed a claim thru PayPal. Ten minutes later, I received a call from the seller, who's item was originally removed, stating he received my payment, and the item was sent on the same day. WHAT, Ebay stated they removed it, how could it be in the mail????? The seller was as stunned as I was. He was very professional, and apologetic. Very nice person. I received the item the next day. My problem, there is the 2nd item that I purchased from another seller, same item, that is still out there, paid for. I have not yet received. I have send 11 emails to Ebay, and 7 to PayPal, all being ignored. I have received no response whatsoever. Do you thinik Ebay and Paypal, owned by same company, are possibly in a racket????? This all happened very recently, and I am not letting this go. I have recently filed a claim with PayPal on the 2nd purchased item that would have never been purchased if they had brains enough to be upfront about their transactions. Their communication with PayPal, a company owned by Ebay, is unprofessional, as there is none. I will never purchase an item, or sell an item on Ebay, and I will never use PayPal again. Pretty sad.
