I had been a repeat customer at Drugstore.com. I ordered an Early Pregnancy Test (box of 2) from Drugstore.com on December 31st. Two weeks later, when I still hadn't received an e-mail that it had shipped out, I attempted to cancel the order, because what good is an EARLY pregnancy test when it's taken weeks to arrive? Drugstore.com told me they would try to cancel the order, but that their policy is that cancellations must be made within 2 hours! I pointed out that they had long passed the shipping time that their site promised and that because of that, the product was no longer useful to me. On March 2nd, over two months after I placed the order, I received an e-mail that my order is complete and they are shipping it out- and charging me - even though it's been over 2 months since I originally placed the order, I thought they would do their best to cancel it, and I no longer need a pregnancy test. I've communicated with them about this and they won't budge on their 2-hour cancellation policy, even though they were excessively late shipping! Now I have the hassle of returning the item when it gets here and they've said I must pay their mandatory $4.99 return shipping fee.
Update March 20th: 10 business days after the shipping notification e-mail had come to me, the items still hadn't arrived (even though my credit card had been charged), so I sent an e-mail to a few higher-ups at drugstore.com (had to do some digging online for those addresses). I received a phone call during which drugstore.com apologized and refunded my purchase and gave me some store credit. They also said they'd look into what went wrong since it was out of the ordinary. I learned that if you have a problem that still remains unresolved after 3 interactions with customer service, you should ask to speak to a manager (this is supposed to happen automatically, but it didn't in my case.) Drugstore.com renewed my faith by sincerely resolving the issue for me, but it did take some persistence on my part rather than giving up. Still, if you need something sooner than later, like a home pregnancy test, you're probably better off going to your local pharmacy. For convenience and good prices on things that can take a little longer to ship, drugstore.com can save you money and time.
