Living on Long Island and owning a boat for the last 15 years, we've become quite familiar with West Marine stores and their catalogs. While it is often convenient to just run into the store, there are times that the store just doesn't have what we need and this is where the online store comes in to play. The site is very easy to get around and find just what we need which, if you know anything about boat parts, can be somewhat complicated.

Another great feature of West Marine is their Advisor Articles. Many of the employees at West Marine are boaters themselves and will write articles about boating, parts, maintenance amongst other things. The articles are really well written and are great resources for finding more information on various aspects of boating. My husband has used the information in these articles to choose gear for our boat and I've used the information to be a good First Mate.

Last year on our cruise (2 weeks in Long Island Sound/Fisher's Island Sound), we needed a part that looked like it was going to go soon. A check on the West Marine website found the part and an overnight order shipped to a local marina got the part to us lightning fast. West was a great resource for us!

We have had to contact West Marine numerous times for various questions and the customer service representatives have always been helpful and knowledgeable and if they don't know the answer, they find someone else who does.

As long as we own boats, we will be a customer of West Marine.
