Water Warehouse - Great Prices on Pool Supplies

A review by AliventiAsylum written on May 3, 2005
Full review
We opened our pool early, anticipating showing our home to prospective buyers. I figured the pool would look much nicer open with the clear water visible under the solar cover, rather than with the winter cover on it.

For whatever reason, the minute I started up the pump I knew something was wrong. It was making a loud whining noise which it hadn’t made the year before. Calls to our local pool supply store were met with the answer of “get a new pump” to the tune of $300. Knowing that the internet is the source of the same products only much cheaper, I searched by the pump model we had. I knew the name Water Warehouse from catalogs I had received last season, our first as pool owners.

Water Warehouse offers a wide variety of pool supplies for both above-ground and in-ground pools. There are all sorts of items here for the pool owner: diving boards, pumps, filters, chemicals, pool toys, covers, liners, outdoor furniture, automatic cleaners - just about anything I could ever think of associated with owning a pool is sold at Water Warehouse.

The site is laid out nicely and it’s easy to find anything. His was nice since they were having a spring sale, so in addition to the pump I needed I browsed for anything else we might need. Finding the pump was easy. The search engine on the site works well. In addition, any specials are showed on the main page and since my pump was one on sale it was very easy to find.

I also found a start-up kit to use in the spring, but we had already purchased one locally. I liked the kit they had, though as there was much more in it. I checked out the prices on chemicals and they were really good. Since Water Warehouse doesn’t charge a shipping fee, but just a handling fee of $7.99 for orders under $200 and $9.99 for orders over $200. Smart shoppers will be able to save a lot of money here on chemicals over the course of a season.

Water Warehouse has a price guarantee that they will meet or beat any advertised price by a pool catalog or website. If I find a lower price after I place the order, I can call customer service and report it. Once verified, they will refund the difference. Returns are accepted within 30 days except on custom and special order items such as drilled solar reels and dive boards once they are opened.

There is live online help available Monday through Friday, from 8 AM - 5 PM Central Time, should you have any questions. The site also has a series of FAQs about things like opening and closing the pool, and keeping chemicals in balance. There is a Pool Care Guide available right off the main page as well as the ability to order a free copy of the catalog.

Sales and specials are highlighted too, and easy to find. There’s no digging around the site to find products that are on sale. I also signed-up to receive weekly emails with specials and tips in them.

I placed the order for the pump As well as a vinyl repair kit since we had an issue with a hole in the liner last fall. The cost for the pump was only $179.99 plus the handling fee - I saved quite a bit over the $300.00 the store near us had quoted me. It was easy to do. I chose to create an account for future use, although you can shop and make purchases at Water Warehouse without doing so. Payment is by major credit cards, debit cards, check or money order (mail-in orders only). If you don’t want to order online, there is a form available to print-out and mail or fax over.

My items arrived in just two days via Federal Express - I was extremely happy with the fast delivery. The pump was replaced and is now working fine and quiet, the way it should be.

I have no qualms about ordering again from Water Warehouse. I will decide in a couple of weeks when I need to order my chemicals for the season whether or not I will order through them, but I am definitely considering it over our local store which wanted to gouge me on the new pump.
