My first encounter with ThingsRemembered.com’s online site came with the purchase of the Stainless Steel Flask, which I reviewed yesterday (October 23rd, 2005). After this first sampling of ThingsRemembered, I’m pretty certain I’ll be shopping @ this site again and again. Not only does the shop provide so much in the way of attractive gifts and novelties, this store provides the opportunity to give someone special a reminder of just how “special” they are to you. This particular store is more than a gift shop... it a store that gives us the chance to share our heart and soul with another, in a very special way, with a very “special” gift.

Also, Things Remembered provides shoppers with a store locator by zip code search. The closest store in my area is The Asheville Mall in Western North Carolina. I prefer shopping at the online site, though, where I have the chance to make my decisions without the helpful, yet sometimes inessential, advice of the sale’s person to aide in my decision. I guess I’m the sort of shopper who likes to listen to my inner guide instead of the recommendations of a salesman or saleswoman. Either way, I am fond of the online version of Things Remembered in comparison to the in store shopping.

Thing Remembered (www.thingsremembered.com) is an exceptional gift shop that provides personalized gifts for men, women, couples and more. Some of the specialized gifts offered at Things Remembered include gifts for special occasions - barware, frames & albums, clocks, jewelry boxes, photo storage, baby keepsakes, money clips, mugs & tankards, business card holders, crystal, cake server sets, anniversary, Christmas, birthday and other gifts for special occasions for gift giving. What is truly great about Things Remembered, though, is that the site (and store) provide the consumer with the chance to have their gifts engraved or monogrammed with initials, names, words & phrases.

When you share a special bond with someone, especially in today's modern America where most everyone has everything they actually "need" and it's a little more complicated to seek out the best gift for the person who already has everything... I find it particularly frustrating when shopping for the men in my life, as I am doubtless that many women do. Things Remembered helps the buyer to personalize their gift in a way that essentially places emphasis on the gift of a memory or moment that has been shared between the giver and recipient of the gift. Things Remembered is a excellent shop for gifts that truly show the recipient that they are special to you in a way that no one else could be.

We all have "memories" and we all would like to "cherish" those treasures within our hearts and minds for as long as we possibly can. These memories are the gifts of our lifetimes, our little treasures we hold inside - those special moments that, when recalled, remind us of the incredible intimacies and insights we've shared. The memories that force us to smile or laugh, encourage us to try when we might have given up, help us to heal from old wounds and past failures, remind us that Love isn’t a four letter word, but a living sample of what Jesus meant for us to learn. These are gifts that remind us of those times when we've felt the strongest of connections with others and really would like to keep the memory alive by engraving it on a gift for the person we've shared the memory with.

From Personal Experience: I placed my order with Things Remembered and chose the next day air shipping since I was hoping my gift would arrive by Friday at the end of my husband’s work week. Placing the gift in my shopping cart, choosing the personalization and ordering was quick, simple and generally the same as ordering from any other online site. The gift arrived, pre-wrapped and as expected, by Friday of the same week. And, my husband did love it! You can read about this particular purchase under my last review of the stainless steel flask I had personalized for him.

The only disadvantage to shopping @ Things Remembered is the cost of the engraving. The Flask I purchased was on sale for $19.99, but the engraving (due to my rather long phrase) and the cost of next day air shipping did raise the price to over $100.00. But, I believe this was a $100 that I will never regret spending simply because of the memory making it commemorated. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely spend this amount and more to bring a real "smile" to another face the way this gift has.

Would I recommend Things Remembered to other consumers? Most definitely. The site is simple to use and the personalization makes your gift choice a truly special creation for a special occasion... or for any day! I have little doubt that I will be shopping at Things Remembered, over and over again. I’m excited about this wonderful addition to my list of favorite shopping sites and can’t imagine anyone who will be disappointed with their purchase. Without any hesitation at all, I highly recommend shopping @ Things Remembered. This is a shop for memory making of your most precious memories. Since Christmas is just around the corner, I couldn’t imagine a more lovely shop to visit for your gift selection. I hope you will enjoy Things Remembered as much as I did and enjoy your gift giving as much as I did!
