Before I give my option, I may first claim that I am a kind of familiar with online shopping. Up to now, I have at least 15 directly online shopping experiences (by "directly" I mean I buy). I also act as the "computer guy" around my friends and provide shopping advices to them, which lead to another at least 15 online shopping. The products I bought (or advise to buy for friends) from online include: desktop computers, notebook computers, LCD monitors, digital cameras, clothes, basic simple furniture, drugs and medicine, beauty and skin cares, books, computer related small accessories such as CDR, CDROM, DVDROM, disks, memory, printers, general electronics such as CD players, etc. The most often sites I visit include DELL.com, buy.com, amazon.com, bestbuy.com, officemax.com, officedept.com, HP shopping, circuitcity.com, staples.com, target.com, Kingston.com, drugstore.com, etc. Given such a background, I will try my best to make my review of this site (www.sterlingtek.com) and my shopping experience more accurate, valuable and comparable to other sites/users.

In the following "this site" refers to Sterling Technologies website (www.sterlingtek.com). And the points range from 1 to 5, with 5 is very good, and 1 is very poor. And I am giving the review only based on my order, which are two batteries for digital cameras.

For the price of my order, I give this site point 5. I agree that they have a very low and good price.

For the shipping and handling of my order, I only give them 1. The reason why I give them so low a score is that in my order I indicated I want the Fedex 3 day shipping, which I pay $9.99. However, I placed the order on Oct, 8, Wed, but I did not get anything in the following 5 days. I emailed them on Oct 13, Monday (which is the Columbus day) asking about it. They replied and said the order is delayed because of the holiday and will be shipped soon using USPS. I immediately emailed back saying that I selected and paid for Fedex 3rd day shipping (USPS often lost package in my area). They replied and apologized for it and shipped my order using Fedex 2nd day shipping on Oct 14. I got the package on Oct 15. So the point is: their shipping is really slow and they may tend to change the way of shipping without informing the customer. By the way, they do not provide order tracking number like most other sites do.

For the customer service, I give them 3 point. They delayed my order and also almost made mistakes for the shipping, but they apologized for it and corrected it.

For the product quality in my order, I give them points of 5. After I got the battery, I recharge it, and did a testing of it with my Canon S50 digital camera. I took 11 video clips continuous, which added up to 30 minutes 32 seconds. After that, I keep the camera's LCD on and doing nothing (make sure the camera is in working situation). The battery held for 55 minutes before the camera gave low battery warning. I still kept the LCD on. The battery lasted another 10 minutes before the battery was too low and the camera auto powered itself off. From the above, I judge the battery's quality is quite OK. Please note that I have no way to test the battery's durability and the packaging of it is a little bit of simple and coarse. But considering its price, I give it a score of 5.

For shipping charge, I would give them point 1. I really doubt the reason that for shipping such two light weighted and small batteries, they charge $9.99 for them. While most of other sites are free shipping or much lower shipping. This shipping charge is actually the largest I ever have had.

For whether I will shop again from this site, I would give 3 points, which means that I do not love to do but also do not against it.

For whether I would like to recommend this site, I would give moderate 3 points, which means if you want to shop with them, I agree. And if you do not want to shop with them, I also do not persuade you for it.

I would give this site an overall of 3 points. The best things about this site is their good price (at least for my order). The worse thing about this site include their slow shipping, and they tend to change the shipping method regardless of customer's original order.

Please be noticed that I only have one online shopping experience with this site, and my review and judgments are based on this experience and based on the comparison with my other online shopping experiences. What happened to me may not be the typical thing that will happen to another users. And I am providing my options as fair as possible and try not to include any personal emotional reasons.
