Sears.com is a scam as far as I'm concerned. I ordered a plasma TV online. After 4 days, I received an e-mail saying that the TV I ordered was not available. How could that be, I thought? It's right here online. I tried ordering it again. Same thing. The e-mails they sent informing me of the unavailable item offered me a 5% discount on another choice. Wow. Thanks.
So ... I made another choice. Three days later, an e-mail saying it was unavailable. Again ... how could that be, I thought? It's right here online. And I made ANOTHER choice. Guess what? Same thing.
After talking with several Sears.com representatives (one rude, one a little helpful, one hanging up on me after putting me on hold for 35 minutes), I was told that the item was not available IN MY AREA. Ok, first of all, I live in Chicago, not Podunk, USA. It's not like I'm in a rural dead-zone (I mean no offense to people living in rural areas -I just understand that it can be a little hard to get some things when you are not in a larger area). But even still ... IF YOU HAVE AN ITEM IN STOCK SOMEWHERE, THEN IT SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO WANT IT! Don't put it on your website, and then 4 days later tell the person ordering it that it's not available.
As far as I'm concerned, this is false advertising done to lure you into purchasing a more expensive model/brand (but hey ... you got their paltry 5% discount).
So, right now ... I have nothing I've ordered, and a stream of useless dialogues via e-mail. Wow! Thanks Sears.com! Satisfaction Guaranteed, indeed.
Sears.com sucks.
