I've been a customer for a good many years, and I've never had an issue that's infuriated me as much as this.
On May 14, 2006, I ordered a one-piece strapless shaper, which I had planned to wear to a wedding on May 27. I had thought that two weeks would be enough time to ship the order. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I never received a notice stating that the order had been shipped, so I finally went to the website to track my order. Still no luck. So I emailed customer service, who responded that the order was shipped the following day, 5/15. When I go back to the website, voila! It magically appeared shipped just as the CSR stated it was. Interesting.
I wait another week, but now it's getting close to the wedding, so I email again. Yet again, the response is "10 business days" and I am instructed - via automated "your comments are very important us, blah, blah" response - to continue to wait. When the 10th day arrives, I email once again. "Shipments are not considered 'lost' until 20 days have passed."
So let me get this straight ... I have to wait up to 20 days, and in all actuality, probably more, spend extra money for shipping, and live on a wing and a prayer that the item arrives by the time I need it? Is this any way to do business? I could have gone out locally, purchased the items I needed, saved on shipping and had the item in my hand nearly two weeks ago!
Since the wedding was the following day, I had no alternative but to go out and purchase a strapless bra and panty shaper to wear. As I sit here writing this, I am *still* awaiting my original Roaman's order to arrive, and the CSRs at Brylane have been less than helpful.
Over the years, I'm sure I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars with the Brylane group of stores. I can honestly say that this experience has soured me so much that I doubt I'll be purchasing again.
