I placed 2 mother's day orders. Ordering was easy, delivery was fast. Shipping was $13(?!). Flowers on both orders were sub-par. One order was correct, one order was missing a balloon. Customer service was excellent.
I listen to a lot of AM radio and decided to give Proflowers a try after hearing commercial after commercial from local and national hosts. I wonder if they have seen any actual flowers that have been delivered by Proflowers?
I think Proflowers takes advantage of the fact that when a woman is lucky enough to receive flowers, 99% of us are not going to call the sender to tell them the looked like poo.
I did NOT realize that they shipped UPS or FedEx, however, I probably would still have ordered even if I had known. Although, I have to admit, flowers that you unpack and arrange yourself lose quite a bit of the "WOW!" factor of the florist van pulling into your driveway and delivering an actual arrangement into your hands. Much less, getting delivered to the office...there would be no envious or curious looks from fellow co-workers if all you were getting were some FedEx packages instead of a big vase full of flowers.
I placed two orders: one for my mom, who lives out of state, and one for my mother in law, who lives in the same town as I do. I ordered the same arrangements for both of them, but added a balloon for my in law's birthday.
Regarding the order for the mom living locally...I saw the arrangement the day it was delivered (Friday) and was embarrassed. The flowers were wilty and looked like they had been left in the sun. She said that she had to throw away quite a few of the flowers because they were just plain dead. I paid extra for a balloon and it was missing entirely. When I called to complain, the man was very nice and immediately offered to replace the mixed bouquet with an arrangement of roses that cost the same, to be delivered the next day (Saturday). The roses were a little better quality, but the ballon was a little ballon-on-a-stick affair and it had a hole in it. I was under the impression that it was an actual helium balloon I had paid for.
I called my stepdad on Sunday and asked him about the bouquet my mom had received from me. He said they looked "pretty crappy". I didn't ask him any detail beyond that.
I am going to call Proflowers again tomorrow and complain. Hopefully, they give me at least a partial refund. I really don't want any more flowers from Proflowers. 3 strikes and they are out.
For some reason, Proflowers used FedEx for the local mom and UPS for the out of state mom. I received lots of shipping/tracking info from UPS, but none from FedEx.
UPDATE: 1 WEEK LATER
I called proflowers to complain. I went through the whole story. The girl asked me if I wanted to do another replacement. I told her no, the reason I was calling was just to let them know I was really unhappy with the quality and would like a refund. She hemmed and hawed until I used the magic phrase...Could I please speak to your supervisor. She put me on hold and came back on two minutes later to tell me the 100% refund had been processed on their end, and to look for it in 5-7 business days.
Still would not recommend. I will use a local florist next time.
