Poor Customer Service and follow through

I have always been a fan of Orvis and believe that they have offered a good product at a good value. Too, their customer service was second to none.
However, their e-commerce leaves much to be desired. After ordering a briefcase from their on-line catalog (after receiving an e-mail solicitation/invite to do so) I purchased a briefcase. After eighteen days with no word I sent an e-mail. They canceled the order without notifying me of the same. Their customer service and follow through was equally unimpressive and their response to this issue was less than satisfactory. After being a steady customer for years I will not do business with them again. Their on-line catalog does not live up to their reputation for providing good value and service.
