I ordered a single hose air conditioner from Web Stores America and it arrived pretty quick. I set up the unit and ran it for 2 hours with little success. The unit never shut off and the broken drain plug left a puddle of water on the carpet. I live in the pacific northwest where temperatures rarely surpass 85 degrees and the unit still had trouble cooling a 400 sq ft studio apartment. I promptly returned the unit to Web Stores America. About A month later, I received a call from them inquiring about the whereabouts of the unit. I had kept the shipping receipt and confirmed the unit had been delivered to the correct address several weeks earlier. I was charged a 15% "restocking fee" for a broken unit. Overall, I paid nearly $190 for no air conditioner. ( $50 shipping, $70 return shipping and $67.35 restocking fee) Portable air conditioners are not as efficient as their window mounted counterparts, especially the single hose units which draw warm air into the room to replace the exhausted air. Also, these units are the size of small refrigerators and are expensive to ship so do your homework before you consider buying one.
