I purchased this on line on a Sunday evening. Friday morning Fed Ex rang the doorbell and our Danby Icemaker arrived in perfect condition. Mercantila's website was easy to navigate. Their prices were the lowest of any e retailer. We had purchased the same ice maker at a walk in appliance store for another home. We paid more for it than this one by almost $50.
I reccommended Mercantila to a friend that also purchased the icemaker. She was impressed with the prompt delivery. I would definitely do business with this company again. |

A Major Disappointment

Styling and finish of the headboard was as expected. Lower corner of headboard sustained minor crushing damage. This is a somewhat inconspicuous location, so I decided not to return it. Damage resulted from package being dropped/rough handling somewhere between manufacturer in China and my home. The rather flimsy styrofoam and cardboard packing surrounding the headboard were inadequate to protect the 90+ lb. piece.
Sixteen bolts used to fasten the two legs to the back of headboard were not included in the package. Neither was any sort of assembly instructions sheet, although it's not rocket science to assemble. Trial and error with some of my own bolts at home enabled me to determine the right size/length (metric). After a trip to Lowe's to purchase the missing bolts I was able to attach the legs to the headboard and the bed frame in no time. While I do like the headboard, the overall experience was a major disappointment. |

I placed an order on Sept. 4th 2009, at which time my credit card was promptly charged. The original shipment date was Sept. 11th 2009, then 16, 17, 18. I followed up daily and was not given any updates other than they would have to check with the warehouse and would get back to me in 24-48 hours each time. The call center was extremely unhelpful and unacommodating to any of my requests. On Sept. 21st, 2009 I cancelled my order and have yet to receive the promise cancellation confirmation via email that should have arrived within 24-48 hours. I have also not received the refund on my monies to date. I would absolutely not recommend this site to anyone. The service is terrible, they are unlawful in charging customers for orders that have not even been placed and claim to have speedy delivery time when my order was delayed a month with no updates whatsoever. Please do not use this website.

Delivery was prompt, and all the usual metrics were just fine. One item that would have helped would have been: "Mounting hardware for 1/2 inch counter included." That would have warned me that I needed to take special precautions for the 3/8 inch counter that I was working with.

1. Mercantila refused to honor a $10 promised discount. The merchant's entry at FlamingoWorld at the time I placed my order indicated I would receive a $10 discount on any purchase over $150, no coupon needed. I clicked directly through from FlamingoWorld to Mercantila. I never got the discount.
2. The unassembled product arrived with a part missing. When I was unable to reach Mercantila's customer service, the manufacturer's factory said it would send the missing part. 3. I was unable to reach Mercantila's customer service. When I attempted to submit my problems on their problem-reporting page, their site ignored repeated submission attempts, telling me to "Please check the return policy agreement." |

I also had a dismal experience with Mercantilla. I wish I had researched their reviews before placing my order. I ordered a glider, and 3 1/2 months later I still don't have it. They promised ship dates that came and went. When you call to inquire, they put you on hold for 30 minutes. (When you place the order, they take your call right away) I ultimately cancelled my order and they agreed to issue a credit but never did. I had to contact my cc company instead. I got totally scammed by Mercantila. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

We have received our Inversion table and was truly surprised as to how fast it arrived. It came the afternoon before we were leaving for vacation so we didn't have time to assemble before leaving. However, once we returned home, we assembled and both of us are experiencing wonderful results. We use it every morning and then again after strenuous yard work. We no longer have to live on doses of Aleve to get through our day.

The machine arrived before its ETA. Customer service agent was extremely patient, knowledgeable and accurate with his advise. My overall experience has (so far) been a A in my book and my book is hard to please on all points.
I do notice when it has been off for a short time. It also works better with a couple of windows slightly opened. |

I ordered this bench partly because of its price and because the photos looked attractive. Ordering was a piece of cake. I was thrilled with the free shipping and figured it would arrive in a week to ten days. Was I wrong! I received notice it had been shipped the next day and then BOOM, there it was at my door. I was thrilled. The order was complete -- no missing pieces or anything. The bench was easy to put together and now it's beautiful in its place of honor outside.

Absolute worst shopping experience I have ever had. After searching around and checking prices I ended up ordering a elliptical trainer and a mat for it from Mercantila (elliptical trainer superstore). Order went through.
3 days later the mat "shipped", and I was given a tracking number. 5 days later the elliptical "shipped", and I was also given a tracking number. Over about 2 weeks I got 4 requests to review the products, which I hadn't received yet. I never received any of the items and after about 10 calls in 2 months, which EVERY time they promised to get back to me and NEVER did, I was finally refunded. They don't know what happened to the elliptical, it wasn't actually shipped to me, it was sent to them from the manufacturer, and that's the tracking number they gave to me. Final result, I lost money because I was ordering from Canada and they billed me when our dollar was high and refunded me when it dropped. I ended up ordering the elliptical from another store and received it in less than 10 days. |

Beware of return policy. Their 100% customer satisfaction guarantee is false. In order to return an item it was 25% restocking fee and you have to pay for shipping both ways. The people in customer service are very very unpleasant. A customer service woman intentionally coughed into the phone. They were all rude and unknowledgable except for the person who originally took the order and followed through on what she said. Otherwise they did not follow through unless I would call back and get angry. I would never, never order from them. Horrible horrible company.

I am outraged with Mercantila. I CANCELLED my order for the Pilates Power Gym on August 30 because the shipping date kept getting later and later. I was already receiving statements from "Bill MeLater". I called "BillmeLater" and told them that I had cancelled the order. In the meantime, Mercantila is giving me a song and dance that someone named Ashley was working on it (got two e-mails from the hardworking Ashley). Today (9-2-09) I received another e-mail informing me that my "cancelled" order was still on time for a September 29 ship date. I cancelled because more than a month had elasped since I ordered and Mercantila kept pushing the date later and later. I'm going to call tomorrow to see if I have better luck. DON'T buy anything from them!!!

This have been a nightmare for us! After ordering our baby stroller through Mercantila via ‘Jogging Stroller Superstore’ we have dealing with troubles and troubles since then. They lied about the shipping time and instead they have been adding weeks and weeks without any proper response. We were billed for an item that they did not have in stock!!! We contacted their Customer Service Department and no-one had an answer for us. We cancelled our order in order for them to reverse the transaction on our credit card and we have been receiving weird emails stating that our situation is under review. How this could happen??? We still waiting for the full refund of the baby stroller. It’s a completely scam!!!!

I ordered a Phoenix 98900 Power Rower from the Rowing Machine Superstore. The web site contained all the information I needed to make my choice and the order process was simple. The communication prior to delivery was excellent - they kept me informed of when my rower was to be delivered and when the "special offers" provided as part of the purchase were to expire. Do not order anything from this business; it has no customer service sense whatsoever; I ordered a TV stand for a little over $600 on 5 Aug; credit card charged the same day; got notified of ship date of 11 Aug and advised that I would receive an email when shipped; no notification of any type received; sent email inquiry on 14 Aug; called on 17 Aug; advised to wait for 3 business days (19 Aug) to get answer to my email; 19 Aug came and went with no communication of any kind; called on 20 Aug, advised that notice was being sent to warehouse and that they would answer me that day--no notice of any type; called back on 21 Aug, same answer; I asked to speak to a supervisor or for a phone number to the corporate offices; no supervisor would come to the phone and claimed not to have corporate numbers....

Awful. I ordered rug 7/30/09; wish I had seen all these reviews first. I specifically called to make sure the rug was in stock, and was assured that it is. 27 days later, rug still has not shipped despite 2-day ship promise. They take your money right away though. Customer service tells you again and again "It will ship within 3 days" but never does. I feel like they've created a new circle of hell. Mercantila is obviously a big scam, and I suspect a lot of these recent positive reviews are being created by the company themselves.
I do a LOT of online shopping and have never had as bad of an experience as I have with Mercantila. They literally transfer you to a busy signal, put you on hold for 45 minutes, swear on their mothers they'll call/email you and never do. They should be closed down. Even if I do get the rug or my money back, I have wasted hours of my time on the phone and now posting negative reviews. Saving a few bucks is not worth it. Stay away. |
