Unsatisfactory - do not try. Delayed delivery and bad customer service

I wish I had read the reviews on this site before I bought from this store. I placed an order for a Wilson tennis ball machine and Penn practice balls from www.tennis-ball-machine.com which is a Mercantila company. I received my ball machine within 10 days of placing the order.
However, it has been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive my practice balls. My situation is very similar to another reviewer's below where they keep telling me they will track it down from the manufacturer but they never have. I've been callin them for 3 weeks and this supervisor called Jason tells me he will call the manufacturer and make sure it gets shipped... I'm hoping he calls me because one of the other reviewer said he never called. The tennis ball machine I received seems OK except or the speed functionaltiy. It is supposed to shoot balls at 70 mph but I don't think the speed is even 50 mph. I'm getting a radar gun from a friend to check it out. I'll write another review when I find out how fast the balls are being fed to me and if I receive my tennis practice balls. |

Very pleased with my experience at Mercantila (Rowing Machine Superstore). The order was correct, delivery very fast. Website had great information and product was as described. Would purchase from them again.

The merchandise came fine and in good condition - the customer service on the other hand was horrible! I did not get my receipt until a month later and several phone calls. I left messages and stayed on hold for a long time - i would not use this service again.

We ordered a Phoenix MR 900 rowing machine from Mercantila and found Mercantila's service to be absolutely superb. The order arrived by surprise a few days before I ever expected it. The rower came in good shape, was relatively simple to put together and works like a dream. We could not ask more from an on-line company in terms of speed and service.

Ordered a Bowflex Extreme and a Schwinn 418 Elliptical Trainer. Initial delivery was fast but the Schwinn's control display was cracked and making the machine useless. They told me a replacement console was on the way. It did not arrive. I called and they stated the ship date had been revised. That day came and went and I called again. Apparently the ship date had been revised again (no call or Email). It has already been a month and the latest ship date is two weeks away (if it holds).

We had problems with this store. Our order was not shipped when promised and I had difficulty getting a response from customer service. They did not e-mail or call as promised. Wisely, I asked for the number or our salesperson and he got us to the customer service supervisor.Finally, our item got shipped and he kept me informed. I also did not like that our VISA was charged for the purchase 11 days prior to shipment. So we paid for it long before it was received.

Save yourself the time and frustration and order from someone else. This company is BAD news. I sent four emails directly from their website and left two voice mails -- no response. I have since spoken with three different people in their customer no-service department. Each one has given me a different story. I spoke with one Supervisor who committed to taking full responsibility for tracking my order with the manufacturer and calling me with updates -- never received a call back. Today I spoke with a Manager who assured me that he would handle the issue, but at this point I have zero confidence that they will ever come through with my item. I placed my order on February 5, the item was supposed to ship in 2-4 weeks --almost 8 weeks later I do not have the merchandise.

I purchased a treadmill on October 12, 2005 from Mercantila after spending weeks researching what I wanted and the prices of models I was interested in. Within hours of placing my order online I was sent an email with confirmation. The treadmill and free treadmill mat arrived in less than a week and I saved hundreds of dollars. The free shipping really helps with heavy items. How pleased was I? Well last week on March 14th I placed another order with Mercantila for a Bowflex. After applying a repeat customer discount I saved over $550 over what I would have paid for the same machine direct from the manufacturer. The machine arrived in two days (on the 16th) I have been pleased with everything about Mercantila--free shipping, low prices and good customer support.

Terrible experience returning Thumper Massager. I tried to reach customer service representative but had to leave a message. The manufacturer received the returned merchandise on Jan 16th and as of Jan 27th I have not yet received credit.

I purchased an elliptical machine on amazon.com and saw it was shipped and sold from Mercantila. I wanted to research this store before placing my order so I came to epinions. (I research EVERYTHING before I buy) I read another reviewer's comments about an awful experience with this company. Although I was hesitant to go ahead and place my order due to this review, I really wanted the elliptical which was on sale at amazon.com. I placed my order on a Tuesday and to my amazement my elliptical just showed up via FedEx about 15 minutes ago on the following FRIDAY. I wasn't expecting it for a couple weeks or so after delivery. I don't know why the other reviewer had such an awful experience but as for me, I am thrilled that my big, 200lb. package arrived in no time, exactly 3 days after placing my order. I'm giving Mercantila five stars and I won't hesitate next time I'm ordering one of their products.

This company charged my credit card for a product they claimed was in stock. After weeks and weeks, they could not even tell me if the product had shipped (it never had) Further, they would not even refund my money. The customer service department is in New Delhi and is not very helpful. Just a bad experience - stay clear!

Ordered a lamp as a Christmas gift on November 27, 2005. Delivery estimate December 1 to December 6. Nothing arrived. Called Mercantila on December 9 and was told by a customer service rep that item was being processed but no tracking number was yet available. I hung up and called them two minutes later and talked to another customer service rep who said that item wouldn't be available until January. Mercantila never sent me an email to let me know this. I cancelled the order, but refund won't be issued until the purchase order was cancelled which Mercantila placed with the manufacturer. This is not how customers should be treated. Do you really expect me to buy from you again???
