Land's End Has Their Place

Pros:  Quality clothing, year round selection

Cons:  customer service is not accurate costly

The Bottom Line:  Land's End supplies quality merchandise throughout the year.

Land's End has three strengths.

First, their clothing (when available) is quality.
Second, seasonal merchandise is available year round.
Third, their products are shipped carefully.

Land's End clothing is made of quality fabrics, with quality workmanship. I ordered some school clothes for my children and was pleasantly surprised with the results. The prices range from "very reasonable" to "OK, I've reached my limit".
I ordered some down winter coats, dresses, shirts and pants. The coats were wonderful. They were double stitched at the seams, the zippers were strong and the coats were reversible. There were at least nine color choices, a good selection all for $55 for a down coat. I thought this quite reasonable as the northern New England winters and mandatory school recess requires all the warmth we can get in outerwear. The jacket sizes ran a little larger than I expected, (I didn't find this to be a problem).
The dresses, shirts and pants were also good construction. This is what I would classify as play clothes, and were better than I expected.

When the items shipped, I received an e-mail confirmation, however 4 days later than promised. This made it so that with the weekend, the package arrived in 14 days, rather than the 4 days I had expected.

The customer service representative was slightly annoying. He thought I was "lucky" that all my items were in-stock. This rather annoyed me, as I expect a company who sells merchandise to actually have merchandise to sell. I feel that out-of-stock items should not be the norm, but rather an occasional inconvenience.
Also, this was the representative that gave me erroneous shipping information. I would have paid additional to have the items within a week, but instead had to wait two weeks.

On a positive note, I was pleased of the e-mail that informed me that my order was finally sent. This communication allowed me to find out about my order.
