On December 16, I found an electric guitar for my son on kohls.com. It was a very good price and the website guaranteed free shipping on orders over $75 and Christmas delivery if you ordered by December 18. I purchased the item and received an email receipt stating that I would receive the guitar by December 25. I ordered other items from other websites the same day and received all of them by the following Monday, December 22. On Dec. 19, I received an email stating that my package was ready for shipping and it said standard shipping. I didn't think too much about it because all the notices I had received from them guaranteed Christmas delivery. I started getting nervous on December 22 and on December 23 tracked the package and found it was not scanned in by UPS until December 23, was in Kentucky and not slated to be delivered until December 29. I went back to the kohls.com website and pulled up my order and saw that my order said delivery would be between December 29 and January 2. I called customer service and they assured me my package was shipped on time and that it would arrive by Christmas. She supposedly even called UPS and was told that it was shipped 3 day and that it would arrive on the 24th. On the 24th, I tracked my package and saw that it arrived at Columbia SC at 12:36 p.m. on that same day, so, by that time, I knew I was going to have to tell my son that he wasn't going to be getting his Christmas gift from us on time. He has wanted a guitar for 2 years, and he would have been so surprised and happy. I had really been looking forward to seeing him open the gift and cannot begin to say how disappointed I was not to have received the gift. I called kohls.com again on Dec. 26th and was told I had to wait until the 29th to receive the gift. By this time, though, I was getting a little suspicious about UPS because the package showed no movement after arriving in Columbia. I called UPS around 8 pm on the 29th and was told that they were still going to deliver the package sometime before 11:59 p.m. Of course, went I got up on the morning of the 29th, the package was not on our porch and still was not showing any movement since Dec. 24th. Outraged by this time, I called kohls.com and demanded they send me another guitar. I was told that they would have to credit my charge card which could take up to 30 days and then charge me again for another guitar. I don't want them charging my account again, I just want the guitar that I ordered. I have been in contact with Ann Shah who says she is the manager of kohls.com and even she will not send another guitar without charging me for it. Now, it is January 14, I still do not have the guitar and UPS has done their research and cannot find it. I am still waiting for kohls.com to make this right. They have my money and my son still does not have his Christmas gift. Unfortunately, I did not check out reviews of kohls.com before making my purchase, because I am not the only person they have done this to. At this point, I am contemplating filing a complaint with the attorney general's office of their home state for fraud and misrepresentation.
