First, for question #2, the correct answer is YES AND NO--no, because I received the wrong item first; yes, because I finally received the correct item in good condition. Second, for question #7, the correct answer is MAYBE--if the price is right, I'd probably still use K.U. My review: When I received the wrong item (price about $80), I emailed KU about the problem. When I didn't receive a response after several days, I called Oon a Tuesday) and was told they had emailed me a return UPS label. The agent also told me that the correct item (price about $240) was scheduled to be shipped that coming Friday. I confirmed with the agent that I would give the box with the wrong item to the UPS driver when he delivered the right item. The agent agreed that I would probably receive my purchase early the following week. When nearly two more weeks passed with no delivery, I called K.U. again. The agent told me that they were waiting for the returned item, upon the receipt of which they would send me the correct one. Very unpleasantly surprised, I told her about my original conversation with K.U. She told me that I had been misinformed; their policy was to wait for returns before further shipping. I then told her that I couldn't take a heavy box to a UPS location and that I shouldn't have to, especially after having made those original arrangements. She answered by saying that she could arrange for a pick-up. My answer was that that was unacceptable--it would require me to waste not one, but two days waiting for UPS people. Why should I be inconvenienced when they were the ones who erred? Finally, after speaking to a supervisor, she said that they would ship the item and adhere to the terms of my original agreement. She also said that I would receive an email with the UPS tracking number. I never receives any email, but I did finally receive the correct item--a month after I'd ordered it! Now, regarding the first email--I don't know if it had been sent before I called or if the agent produced it during our phone call, but I can say that it made neither reference to nor apology for THEIR mistake; it simply instructed me to affix the label to the box and take it to a UPS location. That they didn't acknowledge the mistake and apologize, in my opinion, is disgraceful. Even more disgraceful--perhaps even disgusting--is that after they made a mistake, they expected me to return said mistake before sending me what I had ordered and paid for. Something is seriously wrong with this picture. The customer who ordered and paid for something should have to inconvenience himself and then wait even longer for an item he should have received three weeks earlier had there been no error? No way! And to treat the customer so unreasonably and not even offer an apology? No, there was no apology offered during either of the phone calls. Disgraceful. As I said earlier--if I want to buy something and K.U. has it at a price significantly lower than at any other merchant, I will reluctantly use them again. But if the difference is not significant, I will pay more and go elsewhere.

Product arrived in a timely manner but was completely without instructions, paperwork, simple recipes....all the things I would have expected with an entirely new product. The machine was complete, with two "extras" included without cost, but without instructions, I have no idea what they are or how they are to be used.

Very impressed with the rapid delivery as initially the item was on backorder. I was told it would be about 3 weeks before they received more, but I actually received it in about 10 days! I saved $175 by ordering online from Kitchen Universe, and no surprise charges from Canada Customs. Definitely will order from them again.

I ordered a Vita Mix blender from them on 5/16/08 for my girlfriend's birthday. 10 days later the order was still not shipped. I received delayed e-mail responses and bad explanations as to why it had not shipped. They would not let me cancel the order. E-mails were exchanged over a two week period with nothing being solved. The product still was not shipped and I was getting extremely frustrated. The Kitchen U staff could not of cared less. They did absolutely nothing to get the product out in what I felt would be a timely matter. My girl friend's birthday came and went, the order still was not shipped out. It finally was shipped on 6/3/08!! That was three weeks from the initial order date. My credit card was charged on 5/21/08. I am supposed to receive it tomorrow but I am thoroughly disgusted with the customer service and lack of professionalism from Kitchen U.com. I will absolutely NEVER shop them again and would highly recommend that you buy elsewhere.

When an item is listed as 'In Stock' I expect to be in stock and ready to ship. This can be a large portion of my decision to choose a particular site. Kitchen Universe listed my item as 'In Stock' and didn't inform me for three days that it was not in stock after all. After three calls and two emails went unanswered, I cancelled the order. This was a very poor on-line buying experience.

I bough the cookware as a gift, four weeks in advance. After about three weeks after ordering I called KU. The customer service rep was very cordial and helpful. However, the order had not even been processed or shipped. I had been looking for it each day after the two week period, and it hadn't even been shipped. Since I needed it by Friday, the rep said she would get it out 2nd day air THAT DAY (it was Monday). I get an email with a tracking number that says the product was mailed 2nd day air TODAY (Wednesday). I am told it will be here before Friday. This is cutting it very close. I appreciate the rep doing what she could to get the product to me, however, I don't think I want to go through this again, so I probably won't be ordering from Kitchen Universe.
