Poor service and inferior quality merchandise

I ordered from this store based on previous reviews listed here. I will never again order from them. I placed my order via the web and heard nothing from them for over a week. I finally called the store and spoke to Simone. At first she was quite dismissive and stated that they had called and left messages that my changing table was not available. I told her that there were no voice mail messages left and that my caller ID did not log a call from her store. She then told me that emails were sent. I replied that I had not received any. She then apologized and said that she would check her warehouse to see if she had one. I should have been suspicious. She called me back and said that she had one . She told me that she had opened the box to confirm the color. I found this strange because it should be clearly marked on the box. However, I attributed this to thoroughness.
When I received the box and unpacked it I noticed another name written on the box. The box was not well packed and the changing table was damaged. (another review). There were plastic covers missing and other covers that had been ripped. There appeared to be water damage to one of the boards. There was a 2003 date listed on the table. I am unsure if this was a return sitting around the warehouse which they dumped on me but I have my suspicions.
When I spoke with Simone it was the same dismissive attitude. Customer service was definitely lacking. There was no apology, offers of help or other possibilities. I merely got a very short...I'll issue a return number and once we get the table I will return your money.
So after 3 weeks I am back to square one. $200 dollars may not be much to some but I believe that it definitely warrants a quality product and quality service. Both of which, Kids Palace did not supply.
