Ok, I’ll be the first to admit I’m trying to stuff my house full with too much stuff. Every time we buy something, we come home and say, where are we going to put this? We have an addition on the end of our house, and to be honest, if we didn’t have it, we couldn’t live here. It houses a desk, two filing cabinets, 2 bookshelves, couch, gun safe, chair, and play kitchen, as well as an end table and a curio cabinet. But guess what? We’re stuffing a treadmill in there too.

I kept thinking, surely I can part with something in here to make a little more room, and I thought if I could find a coat rack then I could part with the chair we stack coats and backpacks on all the time and make a little space. That’s where Furniture on the Web comes in. I just did a search for ‘coat racks’ and came upon this site- and to be honest I never heard of it. When checking Epinions shortly before ordering, to be honest I got a little nervous, but they had a chrome coat rack with a marble base for $69.99, so I thought I would try them out.

Simply log onto www.furnitureontheweb.com and you’ll notice they have plenty of stuff you can shop for. Coat racks, hall trees, storage, shelves, curio cabinets, bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, office furniture, patio furniture, mattresses, mirrors, living room furniture, and kids furniture. I was really surprised at what all they offered, but like I mentioned before, I need more furniture like the plague, so I didn’t shop around too much. The site is well organized though, and they have quite a bit to choose from in every price range.

To be honest, I don’t think I would order something like a curio cabinet that is really huge or anything with glass. Not because of the price of shipping, because you only pay 15% of your purchase price, but just don’t think it’s a good idea. But, since this was a chrome coat rack, I thought it would be alright.

So, I only paid $10 to ship the coat rack to me, and I did not have to pay any tax. I thought the coat rack was at a pretty nice price. They accept all major credit cards, and after I ordered I got a confirmation email letting me know they got my order. Five days later, I got an email letting me know my item had shipped, along with a FedEx tracking link, then two days later I had my item.

Luckily, my stuff came in tact and nothing was damaged like in some of the other reviews I had read about this store. Like I mentioned before, I don’t think I would order anything overly large or that included any glass, just because. I did have a marble base to this chrome rack which is what I was most worried about, but it was really well wrapped and it came in fine.

So, once I started unpacking everything and I found the directions, well I realized that the directions sucked- which is not the fault of the seller but the fault of whomever made this coat rack in the first place. There were just numbers and letters and arrows, so I had to figure it out for myself, but really process of elimination worked fine and I figured out what went where.

What I was most displeased with were the chrome balls that go on the end of the hanging poles. Well, what I thought were chrome balls, turns out they were spray painted plastic balls that go on the ends of the chrome poles. To me, it made the coat rack look rather cheap, but from a distance you really can’t tell the difference, but once you go up closer you can tell. But, they do stick on the ends alright, and of course when you have stuff on the poles you can’t see them anyway, but I would have much preferred metal ends to go with the metal poles. Also, there’s a little black piece of plastic that connects the upper pole with the lower pole, and you can still see the black part a little when the poles are connected, and I just don’t care for that either.

But, it does do the job. But, to be honest, I don’t think I will be shopping here again. Not because of their service, because I had no trouble, but I think the merchandise could be a little bit better made- I find that this I got looks a little cheap for my taste, but overall it is functional. Not recommended store though.
