It all started with a football jersey. I mistakenly called it a 'shirt' and got read the riot act about the differences between the two. Knowing that I needed to come up with something a little extra special for Tommy's birthday I started looking for
Steeler jerseys but I had no idea which number to go with, the size I needed and which shirt [home or away] he would like more. He isn't a small guy but I've been fooled before when ordering sport clothing online when it comes to getting the correct size. Knowing that I had to get him something special and that he wanted a Steeler jersey I threw the ball in his court and let the cat out of the bag. He picked it out, did the sizing and left the page open when it came to the payment screen.
Don't you just love that?
FansEdge carries items for all the major sports including the NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAA and
NASCAR. One thing I love about the website is that it is super easy to find things. Scroll over any of the main sections and a pop up box shows you your options. I had some trouble with the NASCAR section the first time I used it because I didn't have a specific driver I was looking for. Below the driver listing is a breakdown of sections for clothing, tailgating, hats, home and office, collectibles and autographed items. This is pretty much the same from section to section so if you don't have a specific team that you are looking for, you can use the other categories to find things you want.
On a side note, I put a lot of faith in FansEdge because not only are they a huge online site, they also have six retail locations in Illinois. Any time there is a brick and mortar store to back up an online site I feel a little safer and it usually means that there is less of a chance that theyll pack up and disappear overnight.
FansEdge has become one of my favorite places to shop for sport related items but before you go there make no mistake about it, things aren't cheap. The upside of that is you are getting
quality items that look great the first and fiftieth time you wash them. So far I have bought five hockey jerseys from FansEdge and the prices on them have been the cheapest around. If I am going to spend more than $30.00 on a piece of clothing then I am going to do it right and go balls out. The Crosby jersey was $149.00 and I almost choked on it when I ordered it but you know, I deserved it. Tommy's Steeler jersey was a little less, it was $99.00 [and free shipping!].
On the lower side of the pricing spectrum you can get a really
really sweet looking poly jacket for $24.95 so don't think that everything at the site is going to cost a hundred dollars or more. I have seen replica jerseys selling for half price when they are on sale but you have to make sure that the size you want is still available. Even though I've only ordered a handful of jerseys for us, I have used the site to buy things for friends and so far I haven't been let down once. If you want to check out a picture of that jacket, cut and paste this URL into your browser: http://product.images.fansedge.com/64-05/64-05531-P.jpg
Payment options include MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Paypal. I've used Paypal and MasterCard for purchases and have had no problems with either. I love the fact that you can make a return up to sixty days from the receipt of the order but that doesn't cover anything that is custom made, swimwear or other select items. You can read more about that at the site under the customer service section. Shipping fees are, for the time being, a flat rate regardless of your order size. They do have free shipping from time to time but you have to check the site before you place an order.
As far as customer service, well, they are awesome. You can call in the morning, afternoon or evening and you are going to get a real human that speaks English answering your call and questions. If you have questions, they have answers. My orders have been packed perfectly, shipped when they said they were shipped and my email notifications kept me on top of the situation. The site is easy to navigate, you can order a catalog from the main page and you aren't bogged down with flashy graphics or unnecessary blinkies.
If you are looking for a website that sells
quality goods then FansEdge is the place to shop. I love the simplicity of the site and that there are color photos
but it sucks that some of the images say they can be enlarged and when you click on them it opens a bigger window but the item you want to see is still the same size. If that's the biggest complaint someone has about a site, well, its pretty safe to say you are going to be pleased as punch with everything else.
Make your holiday shopping a little easier .. shop FansEdge!
As always, thanks for the visit
