I recently purchased a large Samsung DLP TV from Electronics Expo. I chose Electronics Expo (EE) because their price was the best when compared to all the authorized resellers from Samsung's web site. In fact, the price was so much better that I was a little suspicious of EE because I found several bad reviews where folks had purchased items marked as "in-stock" only to be told later the item was not available. I was nervous about becoming a victim of "bait and switch" or to have my credit card charged for an item that I'd never see. I decided to go ahead and take a chance on EE with my shields up. I placed an order on a Monday through their web site, it shipped two days later, and I had it in my home on the following Tuesday.
My only negative experience with EE was the fact that I couldn't really track my order. After placing the order I got an immediate email from them with an order tracking link. The order showed a status of "New". My order never left this status; in fact I've had this TV now for 4 days and my order still says "New" on EE's web site. I had to find out from the shipping company that it had shipped; when they called to confirm a delivery date. That's not a terrible experience to have to endure to save the kind of money that I saved, but it seems like something EE could fix relatively cheaply and make the entire buying experience that much better.
Overall, I am totally pleased with my purchase from EE. I didn't get any phone calls trying to sell me anything extra, I think the price of the item I purchased was phenomenal and the shipping costs were reasonable. The shippers were professional and punctual. I used the economy shipping and it still got to me within 4 business days. I would definitely recommend EE to other people but I encourage everyone to do your research. Make sure that whatever you buy is purchased from an authorized reseller. If you buy Samsung, Sony, Pioneer or whatever else; visit their web site and find their list of authorized resellers. If you don't you run the risk of voiding your warranty. And if any vendor calls you to exchange your item for something "similar", decline that offer unless you know your product numbers well and you know you are benefiting from the switch.
