Changed Opinion - Not the ultimate in rip-offs, false advertising and no customer service

I am leaving the prior review which I wrote below so you understand the entire transaction. However, I am very happy to report that after my complaints were forwarded to the proper person, my issues were handled to my total satisfaction. Not only was I given total credit for the purchase, with an admission of error that their ad should have read that the can opener was indeed made of plastic (which they have since changed the wording), but I was sent a pre-paid UPS postage label to return the item for free and was given total credit for the purchase AND original shipping charges. Then, to sweeten the deal, they gave me the new can opener I had wanted at the lowest price that I could buy it for elsewhere with no shipping or handling fees and no taxes.
I am extremely pleased with how this gentleman (and I don't use the term lightly) handled this situation. I think the lesson here is to persevere until your complaints fall into the right hands. Sometimes they fall upon the deaf ears of someone who is "just doing their job," and they can't think outside the lines. Fortunately, someone decided to forward my complaints to the correct person and now I have to change my rating of this site to excellent. I would do business with them again, even after the initial aggravation.
The original story is below just so you get the gist of what transpired. But please remember the outcome.
------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other four negative reviews on Dmart. I ordered a Farberware can opener that cost $18.77 which their ad said was "chrome plated." When I received the item, it was pure silver plastic, no chrome plating whatsoever. Can you say "false advertising"? They also charged me a ridiculous $7.99 to ship it. I must say, though, it came the next day, which is the ONLY positive comment I have to say about them.
When I called them and asked to return it and reorder another brand/style of can opener, I was told I would have to pay the return shipping; but since I was re-ordering something else, they would kindly waive the 15% restocking fee. For what, taking it out of the box and putting it on a shelf? Is that a "restocking fee"? Fancy name for something ridiculously as simple as taking an item still packed in its original box, as received by the deceived customer, and putting it on a shelf. 15% for that??? Anyway, I went ahead and re-ordered a new far more expensive can opener, more than double the original price of the first one. But as time went on, this feeling kept gnawing away at me that they were taking huge advantage of me. Shame on me for allowing it, but that's what happens when nice people are dealing with crooks.
I wrote an email to them online, after not being able to get through via phone, telling them to cancel my order and stating why. They wrote back and said they would very happily cancel my new order; however, since I now was not re-ordering, they would have to charge me the 15% restocking fee. So because of their false advertisement, which was the impetus to purchase that particular item in the first place, I would be left with nothing, yet I would pay $15.98 in shipping charges and an additional $2.82 in restocking fees, bringing my grand total, to have nothing in my hands, mind you, of $18.80, three cents more than the can opener costs to begin with.
I have to tell you, I am still awaiting their response to do the right thing before I make all the necessary calls and report them to the DA, the Better Business Bureau and various online agencies for phony and illegal business practices. If they do the right thing and waive all shipping and restocking fees, as I urged them to do, I will delete this ad. Until then, I am another extremely furious and dissatisfied customer. And they have no idea who they're dealing with, but they will soon learn that this was one person they shouldn't have messed with. I don't take being taken advantage of and being presumed brain-dead very lightly. And you've heard the expression, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"? Scorned is an understatement.
