My overall experience has been very poor. I ordered (and paid for) an outdoor refrigerator on April 22. Today is May 31 and I still do not have a refrigerator. On May 2nd UPS tried to deliver a severely damaged box/refrigerator to us. They suggested that we refuse delivery, which we did. I immediately contacted Compact Appliance but customer service was gone for the weekend and I was told by the sales department to call back on Monday. The sales person was extremely rude. On Monday I spoke with 2 people, the first told me they could not ship me another refrigerator until the old one came back and that Compact Appliance would deal with UPS to get the refrigerator back. UPS told me the same thing so I figured I was covered. The second person told me they would ship me a new refrigerator right away since UPS was in possession of the refrigerator. This response made a lot more sense to me since I had clearly not done anything wrong and either Compact Appliance or UPS had damaged the item. A week later UPS tried to deliver the same damaged refrigerator back to me saying Compact Appliance said I could not refuse delivery. I called Compact Appliance. After a lot of talking and being put on hold, they said they would coordinate with UPS and ship me a new refrigerator when the old one was returned. (they did not honor that the last customer service rep told me he would ship me a new one on May 9th.) The customer service rep was to tell the Manager to call me and submit my complaint for me. I was not allowed to talk directly to a manager and no manager EVER attempted to call me back. 2 weeks later, I called to find out where my refrigerator was. Compact Appliance claimed they and UPS had lost track of the shipment. They then said they had found it but because of my inconvenience would finally ship me a new one even though they still didn't have the old one back. So, here we are 6 weeks later crossing our fingers that when the new one arrives in a few days that it will be undamaged and working! My overall experience has been terrible.
