I have never encountered such shady and outright fraudulent business practices. Called them on 8/11/2008 about Samsung LN46a650 on Butterfly Photo site for $1674 with free shipping, rep assured me TV‘s "brand new”. I placed the order online and gave them a call. They offered extra warranty for an extra $200 and faster delivery with an extra $50 dollars so "the tv doesn't sit in Fedex warehouses for 12 days" they said. Whatever. Fedex doesn't take 12 days to deliver from NJ to Philadelphia. I politely turned him down. Got the TV on 8/14/2008 w/out his "speedy $50 extra option". Noticed a chip lower right corner Tv frame. TV shuts off/on constantly. Had to keep it unplugged. Did firmware update per Samsung. Tv confirmed updated firmware but still shut off/on-off/on in 5 minutes. Called them stating TV malfunction and chipped frame. Rep told me to call Samsung and said I had 5 days to claim insurance with Fedex. Unsure whether Fedex caused the damage(as the outer shipping box the Samsung tv box came in had no puncture/damage where the chipped tv edge would be), I said I would think about it. Later that day, a friend(owns same model) said it's an open-box and pointed to wrapping around the tv stand that's missing around the tv frame. Closer look showed scratches next to serial# decal and below the power button(good indicator of people playing with the tv). Rep manager refuted my refund and it being open box, stating anything from "we don't have enough traffic in our store to have open/display items" to "we sell enough tv at the store and would be able to sell open/display items there" and even threatneningly nudging me "we can help you make Fedex insurance claim" to "will not refund, if you don't want to make the insurance claim "we can make it clear with Fedex"". Outlandish. Suffered that for an hour on top of my brand new $1674 scratched, chipped, broken Lcd Tv. I refused to file insurance claim to rip Fedex off. I know it's an open/display TV, they know so too. No refund. Just $1674 spent for an open-box, non-working TV on my part. It's sickening, these people/company are nasty. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!
