i've shopped at amazon since it opened on the internet. it's been great & i've bought everything from electric toothbrushes, books, electronics, digital cameras, hair care products, and tea from them. however, i've become increasingly upset at amazon's shipping practices. i tried their new amazon prime trial and liked how fast i could receive everything; however, i wasn't impressed enough to pay $79 annually for the service. since the introduction of amazon prime, i've noticed a terrible slowdown rate in shipping times. something that is in stock only ships after 3-4 business days. in terms of internet time, this is too slow with items taking 2 weeks to arrive. i currently have an order of an item in stock that has been in process for 5 days. because of this slowdown, i have drastically stopped spending at amazon. my electronics are now purchased from bestbuy.com & other items are bought off of google or yahoo shopping stores as well as ebay. my haircare products are now purchased from drugstore.com. while i understand that amazon can't ship so quickly, it also shouldn't take 10 days to 2 weeks for something in stock. i've given up on amazon & am now turning to other sellers who are processing items much quicker.
