Amazon.com scammed me out of $12.95.

I just recently bought a pair of Tourmaster Tour Master Cortech Response SC Waterproof Motorcycle boots from Amazon.com.

These boots are wonderful. Great fit, Waterproofing is excellent. Comfortable.

READ ON!

However, save your money and a lot of grief, and buy it direct from the seller. In this case the seller was Extrememoto.com. (who, buy the way shipped the same day) The seller had the boot for the same price (107.95) with free shipping, and amazon charged (107.95 plus $12.95) for shipping. (THEY CALL IT "SUPER SAVER SHIPPING) :) :) :)

Now, after I complained, Amazon has raised their price for the boots to $119.99, with free shipping. (COMICALLY, THEY CALL IT "SUPER SAVER SHIPPING) :) :) :) ! )

Don't get me wrong, my complaint is with Amazon.com, not the shipper, Extrememoto.com. But on all over Extrememoto.com website and on the page this item is listed, are banners that say "free same day shipping on all purchases over $99.00". However, because I placed the order through Amazon.com, instead of Extrememoto.com direct, I lost the $12.95, that Amazon.com kept for their own additonal profit. After several very frustrating emails back and forth with Amazon.com and trying to communicate with poorly trained or illiterate staff, and supervisors who don't really seem to care about customer satisfaction or fairness, they refused to refund the shipping charge back to me, saying I should go to the seller for it. But the money never got to the seller, Amazon kept it for additonal profit, because the seller didn't charge them for shipping.

Just for fun, I did go to the seller, and they understandably denied my request for the refund of shipping, since my transaction actually was with Amazon.com - that is who I made the deal with, not Extrememoto.com. Their reasoning however, was a hard to take "we have to pay a large commission on these and there's no room to refund a shipping charge". Sounds like not only did Amazon.com get a commission on the sale, but they also got the shipping charge. THE PACKAGE CAME DIRECT FROM EXTREMEMOTO.COM, NOT AMAZON.COM!

Unfortunately I didn't know all this until after I made the purchase with amazon.com and then went to the sellers website direct. DUMB!

Don't be in such a hurry, like I was. RESEARCH before you buy! Amazon's prices aren't any different than the sellers direct. Don't trust Amazon that they are saving you money. They aren't. And don't try to deal with their personel unless you are used to talking to walls.

If an online merchant says a charge is for shipping, then that's what it should be for, not additional profit. If they want to charge a higher price for additional profit, then that's their business, but it's not right to lie to their customer.

To be fair, not all of Amazon.com's sales are scammy like this. In fact I've done business with them in the past, and have always been satisfied. But after this, now knowing where there true heart is, which is scamming the customer when the opportunity is there, they have seen my last order.
