I saw that a Canon 135mm 2L lens was in stock on Tuesday, October 3 for the Amazon store, not the other dealers you can buy from there. I ordered it on Tuesday morning from the Amazon store because it said it was in stock and shipped it overnight as I needed it to shoot a wedding in two days. I got an email saying:
"The following items will ship separately, as soon as they're available... (estimated delivery date: 05-October-2006)".
At first, I thought I was seeing things, so I checked the website again. It said Item was in stock, for the Amazon store. Surely this had to be a mistake. On October 4, I checked the website again, and again it said the item was in stock. So why does it take Amazon two days to find the item that's in stock? It's not that the item will arrive at my house on October 5... THAT'S WHEN THEY SHIPPED IT.

So I paid overnight shipping for an item that their website clearly says is in stock, but for some weird reason they can't even ship it for two days. I would never had bought from them had their website been telling the truth which is it wasn't really in stock on Tuesday or Wednesday at all.

Shame on Amazon.com. They lost a customer.
