three weeks ago i tried to find out about an ace hardware store in my neighborhood. it's conveniently located, prominently displays an "open" sign, and is listed in the online store locator, but every time i went there during normal business the store was gated and locked.

calls to the store went unanswered (not even an answering machine where i could leave a message), calls to other area stores resulted in indifferent (we're a franchise; call the main office) responses, and an email to the online customer service department is still unanswered three weeks later.

i've taken my business to true value, which is a little bit farther, but much more helpful (irony intended).
