Excellent service and my purchase was shipped as promised. To get the academic pricing this required proper id. My order was validated in less than 30 minutes, and I received email confirmation that my order was shipped 3 hours later! I phoned this in since I had questions and they were answered promptly and professionally. Pricing was also the best on the net!

Academic Superstore was one of the easiest online shopping experiences I've ever had. Their website has the greatest collection of software products I've seen, and it's very easy to find what you're looking for.
This is the first time I've shopped with them, so I had to call them up to find out where and what I needed to send to prove that I'm actually a student, and that was a completely painless process. There was no wait in a phone queue, and the customer service representative I spoke to was outstanding.
I placed my order Friday morning, and by Monday afternoon, I had my shipment! It was great!

I was so happy with academic superstore's customer service rep named April!!!! she was so kind and she made sure I received my software when I was supposed to!!!!! I had to get this software by the end of last week and I needed it over nighted, I called in around 3:00pm and she advised me if I could get my eligibility in she would make sure that my package would go out, well I faxed it over and called her back she said she had,I was a little skeptical but when I came home from work the next day it was there!!!!! My experiences with Academic Superstore were similar to most of the others mentioned here. The website states that they may be out of stock "occasionally", but it seems as though they're out of stock most of the time. And when you pay forty dollars for 2nd day shipping, it's really disappointing when the store calls and tells you that you're not going to get your item for over a week. I would probably not shop at Academic Superstore again, since there are plenty of other academically-priced online stores that seem more organized than this one.

Good prices for sure, service,uh, nice to talk with.
Heres what happened to me.

1. Found an item.
2. Checked out item.
3. Paid for item.
4. Had to verify my educational status.
5. Had to verify my credit info.
6. Had to call to talk to customer service.
7. Customer service said that item was on the way.
8. Got an email days later stating that item was BACKORDERED.
9. Emailed and called.............no response.
10. Still waiting.

The other review stated that the buyer called in to check item availability.......smart move. I'll know better from now on. Still, the site should have stated clearly that they do or do not have an item in stock.

Overall........1 out of 10 points in my book

Miserable service. Though they cleared my proof of eligibility the same day, buried in the fine print of the order info was a statement that it would take 7-10 business days for them to provide an *electronic download*! By the time I discovered this, two days had elapsed, and I figured saving $20 really wasn't worth the hassle, so I contacted customer service to request a boxed edition instead. When they finally replied, I was informed that the electronic download sale "is not a process we can stop" (yeah, right!), but was assured that the manufacturer should send it to me in the next 24 hours." 144 hours later and still waiting...

My personal experience with Academic Superstore was excellent. I placed my order over the telephone as opposed to the internet to ensure that the product I was looking to purchase was available. When the conversation began, I conveyed to the customer service representative that I needed a particular scanner ASAP as I was working with a deadline. As the Nikon Super CoolScan 9000 film scanner I was looking to purchase was out of stock in their warehouse, the CSR quickly identified the product at another location. Within 5 minutes he had verified my academic status. 50 minutes later he called me back to confirm that the scanner was ready to ship and then sent me an email with my UPS tracking number and my purchase invoice. I received the package two business days later. All in all, the experience was extremely satisfying. The professional nature of the customer service certainly guaranteed Academic Superstore with my future business.

I have had terrible luck. They sent me the wrong item. I have called twice and emailed customer service at least five times over several months. I have had not one single response. I would never order from them again and would advise everyone to avoid them absolutely.

The Academic Superstore was my worst online shopping experience. I never received an order I placed a month and a half ago, and here is what happened. After waiting for a while without hearing anything from them, I spoke with a customer service on early January about the delay in shipment. The representative told me that the order is going to be shipped in a week from certain warehouse. So I waited again. But it never came. I must say that their customer service is either a liar or totally incompetent. They could have informed me if there was a change (or at least answer my email query!!) but they just let me stood up. I had to call them again on late January to see what was wrong, and this time, they blame the delay on the manufacturer. While some delay may be unavoidable given their reasonable pricing, their treatment of customers is terrible. In the end, I cancelled the order. I am awfully dissatisfied with their treatment, and I advise against using this vendor.

I had read mixed reviews about this merchant and, while they had the lowest prices for the software I was looking for, I was hesitant about ordering from them. However, most of the negative comments related to unfulfilled expectations of prompt delivery, back ordered items and frustrated dealings with customer service over the phone. Because I was not in a rush and there were enough positive comments to give me some assurance, I decided to place an order with them.

I was pleasantly surprised by a prompt delivery! They emailed me a tracking number that did not work but, again, since I wasn't in a hurry, it did not bother me. The items arrived in good condition. I had no problems whatsoever.

I have nothing to say but good words and recommendations for this company. Before I ordered, I had some questions and the customer service I received was courteous and extremely helpful. I received my order within 5 days, and when there was a mix-up on the shipping charges, once again their customer service shined. They apologized for the mistake and my account was immediately (or as immediate as a bank can get) credited. I would definitely tell my friends to order through this company. Oh, the stand-up comedy while you are on hold was a welcome break to the elevator music and advertising you usually get. I actually was disappointed when customer service answered so quickly.

My experience with Academic Superstore was incredibly bad. I ordered a Creative Labs Zen Touch 20GB mp3 player on the 19th of December. I requested ground shipping (3-5 days). After seven days, I decided to call their (lack of) Customer Service Line. The (not so) helpful assistant informed me that I wouldn't be seeing the player until mid January. At first I was pretty irritated, I could have had the mp3 player by Christmas, not mid-January if I had gone through Amazon.com. The one thing that really annoyed me about them was that they didn't send any sort of email, telephone message etc. informing me of the delay! Apparently this is against company policy. I could have been waiting for weeks on end for this mp3 player! I promptly cancelled my order and ordered the exact same mp3 player on Amazon.com. Although their prices may tempt you to purchase a product from them, do not. They are absolutely the worst online electronics store out there. Be safe, go with Amazon.com.

Order was received promptly and product was what I ordered.

I did not receive email notice of receipt of order or receipt of my proof of academic status. So I emailed to confirm order. I did receive a reply with a tracking number as the order had already been shipped.

A better system to keep the customer informed would be helpful. But hey I paid 1/2 the price for the software I ordered :-)

I have used this company for two years, and have had no problems--every shipment has been on time and accurate. The prices are good, and once when I called to ask about a particular music product from the company Artura, they promised to research it and within two weeks had the companies entire product line added to their database.

I'm surprised (as several people reviewing here are) at the negative reviews listed here. My guess is that there are some good, and not so good people working on their team, and I've had good luck. YMMV, as always.

I recently ordered from Academic Superstore and was happy with pretty much everything. I see other reviews about stuff not being in stock, but they must have had what I ordered because I was contacted via email about 2 days after I ordered and was told that my order had shipped. Their selection and prices are great, but I do wish I could track my order online. I will definitely check with them before I buy any other software.

My experience with Academic Superstore has always been good. I have placed several orders with them and all of them have been handled professionally. I would like to be able to check order status on line, but they do send a confirmation email when my orders ship.

I am a little surprised by some of these postings as I would highly recommend them and will shop there again.

Just always make sure that what you are ordering is in stock, have them check and double check it.
My experience with them is somewhat smooth. I called in my order, 3 items they had in stock for the 2nd day shipping, and lied about the third one. Therefore I've got most of my order in time, but still waiting for one program. I hope to receive it next week, if not - I'll let everybody know :0)
What came was well packaged, all legal software in it's original package. Prices are good and my ID were confirmed Immediately, and they notified me about this by e-mail, same they did when my items where shipped.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE. They are nothing but fraud. What they advertise, and what they send are two complete different things, which happend to be my case. I ordered a panasonic recorder, and got a sony recorder. Tried to explain to them about the situation, and said the panasonic recorder wasnt in stock, and it wouldnt be in stock or ready to be shipped in almost a month! There customer service is HORRIBLE, and exteremly rude, cause I dont think they have any trained staff. Trying to get a hold of them is impossible, just wait and you'll see. They will not respond to your e-mails, or messeges. Everytime you call them, its always a voice mail. It was unfortunate that I didn't see e-opinios before, and when I did the nightmare had already taken it's course. PAY A LITTLE MORE PEOPLE AND GET IT FROM A HIGHLY RANKED QUALITY COMPANY WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER WILL I SHOP HERE AGAIN EVEN IF THEY WERE ADVERTISING IT FOR FREE. GOD KNOWS WHAT THEY MAY SEND INSTEAD.

These negative reviews surprise me as I've had good experiences with Academic Superstore. The four times I've ordered with them, the correct items were promptly shipped. I had to return one (unopened) piece of software (due to my own mistake in ordering) and they promptly credited my Visa account. And when I talked to them on the phone they were courteous and helpful. If you're a student or a teacher, their prices are great and their selection is among the best of the academic software stores.
