Dry and full bodied. Rich ripe fruit flavors dominate this classic.Incredible aromas of flowers, currants, blackberries, and minerals. Full-bodied, with a supersolid core of fruit, incredibly finely knit tannins and a finish that goes on and on. This is really superb. Much better than from barrel. Giscours is really going places. Best after 2009. 26,665 cases made. (JS) Wine French Still Wine

Les Charmes De Kirwan Margaux 2005 2005 750ml Wine
Compare Prices
from $37
Merlot is an early-ripening variety that contributes a spicy, fruity aroma as well as roundness and softness. Cabernet Sauvignon, which ripens later, is deeply colored and aromatic. Its tannin gives wines a remarkable ageing potential. Cabernet Franc confers a very elegant bouquet. Petit Verdot and Malbec are also used, but to a lesser degree. Wine FRANCE
Kirwan - Margaux 2006 750ml FUTURES Wine
Compare Prices
from $75
A virile, muscular-styled effort with high tannin, the 2006 Kirwan exhibits notes of crushed rocks, roasted herbs, black cherries, and currants. Although slightly tough-textured, it possesses impressive depth and richness. If some of the disjointedness and rustic edges become sweeter and better integrated, this wine will merit an outstanding score. It is a big, full-bodied style of Margaux.
Pavillon Rouge Du Chateau Margaux Margaux 2003 750ml Wine
Compare Prices
from $70
The most impressive second wine I have yet tasted from Chateau Margaux, its maker, Paul Pontallier, believes the 2003 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux is his best ever.” A deep ruby/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of jammy black fruits. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, it represents 50% of the production. With low acidity as well as a fresh, vigorous personality, it should drink well for 12-15 years. Chateau Notton Margaux 2006 750ml Wine
Compare Prices
from $31
Chateau Notton is made in the spirit of a grand vin.” It is assembled from selected batches that yield a round and supple wine that is ready for drinking on release. Chateau Notton is a classic Margaux, combining rich flavors and great finesse. Complex notes of ripe dark cherries, roses, licorice and oak are highly satisfying. Chateau Notton is an undiscovered gem and can be enjoyed with fillet mignon and other cuts of steak and red meats. Though perfectly enjoyable when young, Chateau Notton can be cellared for up to ten years. Wine French Still Wine

Chateau Cantenac Brown 2004 Margaux Wine

This estate was recently purchased by Britsh businessman Simon Halabi, who plans to put fresh impetus into the property. This wine has plenty of plus points: It is well-balanced, emphasizing elegance rather than weight, but it does lack depth and intensity. Wine Enthusiast 89 Points
Chateau Prieure Lichine - Margaux 2005 750ml FUTURES Wine
Compare Prices
from $55
RP: The finest Prieure-Lichine I have ever tasted, the sensational 2005 has unquestionably benefitted from the improvements made at this property as well as the consultation work of Stephane Derenoncourt. Its dense purple color is accompanied by a glorious perfume of forest floor, blackberries, incense, and cassis. Opulent, with sweet tannin for the vintage, excellent purity, and a savory, broad, expansive mouthfeel that lingers on the palate, it possesses the delicacy of a terrific Margaux as well as enough concentration and power to give it an extra dimension. This wine should be drinkable in 4-5 years, and last for 25 or more. Bravo!

Pavillon Rouge - Margaux 2005 750ml FUTURES Wine
Compare Prices
from $52
RP: The best second wine yet made by Chateau Margaux is undoubtedly the 2005 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux, a blend of nearly 50% Merlot and the rest primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot. Extremely rich in color, flesh, fruit, and glycerin, this amazingly opulent, full-bodied effort tips the scales at 14% alcohol ... a full degree higher than its grander sibling. Serious consumers should consider purchasing this gorgeous offering.

Displays blackberry, cherry and hints of sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very pretty and solid. This is structured and chewy. Needs time. Best after 2013. Wine FRANCE
Chateau Lascombes 2004 Margaux Wine

Chateau Lascombes is ranked in the Deuxieme (second) tier of the Medoc 1855 Classification. Always a top quality Margaux wine the winemaking is now being handled by Alain Raynaud and Michel Rolland who have turned it into one of the best Bordeaux in the world. Robert Parker scored it 94 and said of this 2004 'this beauty may be the finest Lascombes yet produced.' Opulent and full-bodied with blackberries bluberries smoky notes and minerally graphite hints. Will continue to improve in your cellar for 10 or more years.Due in April 2nd reserve yours today.

Chateau Cantenac Brown - Margaux 2005 750ml FUTURES Wine
Compare Prices
from $54
RP: Although the new owners were responsible for finishing this wine, serious Bordeaux lovers will have to wait for the 2006 to fully experience their uncompromising efforts. The dark, ruggedly built, rustic, angular 2005 exhibits an impressively saturated color along with aromas of charcoal smoke and black fruits. Aggressive, astringent tannins and noticeable acidity are found in this charmless, full-throttle, monolithic Margaux. It will require serious cellaring, but I do not believe the tannins and high acids will ever be fully resolved. Time will tell. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030.
Marojallia - Margaux 2006 750ml FUTURES Wine

This tiny garagiste superstar is made by Jean-Luc Thunevin’s partner, Murielle Andraud. The sensational 2006 exhibits an inky/blue/purple color in addition to a gorgeously intense perfume of lead pencil shavings interwoven with floral, blueberry, espresso roast, and licorice characteristics. Deep, supple-textured, and opulent with stunning concentration as well as sweet tannin in the finish, it should be accessible in 3-4 years, and drink well for two decades.

Pavillon Rouge Du Chateau Margaux Margaux 2004 375ml Wine
Compare Prices
from $55
This second wine of Château Margaux was introduced in 1908 and now represents 50% of the overall estate production. Generally selected from vats and barrels of a lesser caliber than the Grand Vin, it is typically made from the younger vines.. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% MerlotProportions vary slightly according to the vintage.. This is a superb second wine with fine, light structure, dark ruby color and rich fruit. Pavillon Rouge does not require a long time in barrel and matures more quickly, but still carries a fine potential for aging in the great vintages. Wine French Still Wine
Lascombes 2005 Margaux 750ml Wine

Lascombes’ ownership has returned this estate to its rightful place as one of the top wines of Margaux. The stunning 2005 boasts aromas of lead pencil shavings, incense, charcoal, spring flowers, blackberries, cherries, and espresso roast. A pure, fresh, full-bodied palate reveals moderate sweet tannin, a sensational, lush texture, and a blockbuster finish, but they do not compromise the floral elegance of the Margaux appellation.
Chateau d'Issan - Margaux 2005 750ml FUTURES Wine

While some octogenarians may argue that 1900 is better, this is the finest d'Issan I have ever tasted. The 2005 boasts a deep plum/ruby color as well as a beautiful projected bouquet of flowers, licorice, sweet currants, plums, cherries, and smoke. There is lovely purity in the mouth as well as an etched, precise character, stunning concentration, decent acidity, and an impressive finish that lasts nearly 45 seconds. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2025+ .

RP: A strong effort for Lascombes, the 2006 is a blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. The 2006 exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with aromas of licorice, candied black cherries, blackberries, smoke, and barbecue spices. Surprisingly opulent, soft, and racy, but not as profoundly concentrated or dense as the 2005, this beautifully perfumed, silky-textured Margaux is ideal for drinking over the next 12-15 years.
